Hey there, Phil! Can't wait to see everyone next week.

And what about Mike Hackman, Dan Woolfrey, Todd Weaver (the Weve) and Tom Ziemann?! (I know Tom is on facebook.)

Hey everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to remember a classmate, and very special friend of mine, Bob DeRosa. Today is the 16th anniversary of his death. A tragic car accident took his young life. I will never forget that horrific day. He was a great guy, was strong in his faith. He always made me smile and he was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. (He was also my highschool sweetheart :). I still miss him today, and I just wanted to take a minute to remember his life. If anyone knew him and wants to share a memory, I think that would be cool!
Thank you! Lori Tauber Boardwine

Lori
I have so many great memories of Bobby. I was lucky enough to be in a group of people that were in every class together except our prime in the 10th grade. I have a bunch of stories I could tell. What I do know is those guys meant alot and still do to me. Booby always made me smile and he had this sign he would give to me to make me smile. I did see him once after highschool at the Dennys on BelAir road.Gave him a big hug.
I did not find out about his death until later on. HE was a great guyand I think of him especially when I am planning the reunions.

How, and when did Matt Syzmanski pass away?

05/13/09 08:07 AM #22

Lori Tauber (Boardwine)

Hi DeAnna! Matt and I went through grade school together as well as highschool. I never knew him very well though. I also knew his sister Laura. Matt tragically took his own life. I am unsure of the details, or when exactly it happened. I do, however, remember how devaststed his family was.
Debi, it's nice to hear about your memories of Bob. It's nice to remember!! Thank you!

Thank you Lori. That's such an awful thing to hear about Matt. I didn't really know him well either, but am really sad to hear that he took his own life. I also didn't know about Bob- just too young... I'm sorry for your loss. Take care. DeAnna

Hi all,

In memory of Bob I thought I'd share a little. I remember meeting him through Curt Mauldin. The first time we met I felt like I had been his friend for years - that is just how we greeted people. It was Christmas when I ran into Curt for the first time in years, having just been released from my active duty air force service. Bob came up immediately and Curt had the unfortunate responsibility of giving me the bad news. We got together a few weeks later and discussed Bob again. What amazed me of what I missed being around is how Bob pursued his every passion. As Curt put it best, he was lucky enough to meet all the goals he had set for himself up to the point of his death. He went sky diving, owned a Corvette and had started his own busines. If we all could have such good fortune...
...we miss you Bob

Hey Bill!
I am so glad to read your memories of Bob. He was a great guy. I was wondering if you still kept in touch with Curt. I haven't seen him since Bob passed 16 years ago and was curious if you know where/how to reach him. I don't think he has registered on this website. If you talk to him, please tell him Lori said hello.
Also, you sound like you have had a very successful life, and your family is beautiful!

Lori,

As I went through a divorce with my first wife five years ago I lost touch with Curt and have only seen him 2 or 3 times since. However, to the best of my knowledge he still lives in Abingdon with his wife Anna and their two boys. Tom Fitch may be able to comfirm his whereabouts and be better able to get in touch with him as at one time Bob, Tom and Curt were all business partners. The next time I am in the area I will try to drop in on him and pass him information abouit your desire to reconnect and the website.

As for my life, I feel very fortunate. We all have our trials and tribulations - war, divorce, loss of loved ones, unemployment, personal failures, etc. I have experienced them all. However, I am happy to be alive, have a wonderful family and be able to pursue things that I enjoy.

Hey Lori - from the first Treasurer to the last! :)

My fondest memories of Bob are part of a larger collective...When we were all just starting out in 10th grade, I remember the unintentional team building exercise between the "Electronics & Technical Drafting" primes (I'm sure Mr. Pluemer planned it that way!).

As you no doubt recall, you guys had Electronics the first half of the year, while we were trying not to stab ourselves with the finest protractors West Germany had to offer! Bob and Eddie and Tom and Buddy, would come over and try to scare us to death about how tough Electronics was going, and how we were all going to fail-out after we swapped at mid-year. However, Martini / Phil / Al / Bob Pepersack and me, would retaliate with tales of the Nazi-like point deductions from Herr Volpe, if ze arrowheads ver not perfekt!!

Bob's humor and good nature played a huge part during those uneasy sophomore "tests." He helped us laugh at ourselves, and as a result both primes gelled as teams after realizing we would need each other to succeed in the years to follow.

Although I could never begin to imagine the gravity of your loss, you can take comfort in the fact that when any of us see your face or hear your name, the light of Bob's smile is the very next thing we see. He lives in you, and we'll never forget. Thanks Lori.

Godspeed Bobby...

Lori, Sandy and I saw Bob at White Marsh mall about a month before he passed. Bob was excited about his new place, and seemed to be in great spirits. He really was a great guy. One of my best memories is of the day when Bob, Paul Cusimano (RIP), and I went to Bob's dad's place after our last day of school, and played music in the basement for the rest of the day. Bob and Paul jammed on some of RUSH's greatest hits while I just played along the best I could. Those guys were awesome musicians, Bob on drums and Paul on guitar, and I sure miss them both. Lori Tauber (Boardwine)

Hey you guys! Thanks for sharing your memories of Bob. It's so funny to remember back to those HS years....electronics and drafting,...(Mike, you cracked me up!).. and Bob and Paul making great music. My favorites were when they played 38 Special tunes. I remember those days well and thinking back makes me smile. :) So sorry I missed the reunion and seeing everyone. It's nice to go back to that time in our lives and remember those who helped make us who we are today. I can't wait to see more pictures. I think names need to be added under the class pic. I recognize some faces, but others I am at a loss!! Looks like the reunion was a success. Great job to all of you who worked so hard to put it all 2gether.

Sorry to have missed the 25th, my fault for not staying in touch. Maybe I can make it to the 30th, if Phil swears NOT to wear spandex. Thanks to Mike Iannantuono for sending out his photos from the reunion. Looked like a great time. Maybe we should all think about posting prom or senior pictures with our profiles. Some of us have changed a bit since HS. Just a thought.
Stay safe and be happy!

Hi Cindy,

I do hope everyone has a spectacular time at Reunion XXX! I will unfortunately be unable to attend, as I am participating in a wedding all weekend (not mine - HAHA!!). I will certainly be there in spirit though. In the lead up to the reunion, I discovered that Steve Brown now lives in northern VA, so we're looking to have a mini-reunion next Monday while I'm in DC for business.

Best wishes to all who will be in attendance, and have fun at the after-party with the usual suspects. :)

All the best! See you at XXV.

Mike

Hey Mike!

DAM... we were taking bets on whether or not you could still do your vertical leap from the floor to the table at the age of 47!!!  Well I guess a wedding is a good excuse even if it is not your own!  I am sure there will be plenty of evidence for you to review after the party is all over which is the next best thing to being there.

Enjoy your mini-reunion on Monday and I look forward to seeing you at XXV!  You will be missed!!!

Take care,

Cindy

LOL! Ahhhh the little legacies that endure...I've been on a gluten-free diet since 2013 (by choice, luckily not a ciliac) and I'm down about 10 poundswhich would have given me some margin back for belt buckle level surfaces. I feel cheated. :)

Ciao!
